Tazkia Shifa Azzahra, familiarly called Tazkia, is a close cousin and a best friend of mine from my mother’s family. Her passion for wanting to be a successful individual in the future is exemplary for all students. She was born into this world on 10 July 2000, specifically in Indonesia’s capital, Jakarta. She is an only child, raised by her mother alone. In her senior year, Tazkia chose two majors to enter college; international relations and law. She always got the second choice in every result of various tests that she took for the college. She thought that it was God’s plan for her to take the law major. She didn’t regret a single thing for choosing law as her major momentarily. In the present day, Tazkia is one of the outstanding undergraduate law students at the University of Indonesia and is in her third year. Tazkia always spares her time to participate in several law competitions while she pursues her bachelor’s degree.

She started her fifth semester with the new educational system during this pandemic; online classes. It feels inadequately different from offline courses; she feels more productive, and she can interact with her friends face-to-face. Online courses tend to disrupt her concentration a lot. Despite her classes’ circumstances now and the COVID-19, she regardless enrolls herself in law-related competitions.

Up to this point, Tazkia has made numerous achievements regarding her competitions. She has won as the 1st Runner-Up and “Best Brief” in Lassale Internal Moot Court Competition 2019, 2nd Runner-Up of Business Law Society Internal Legal Opinion, Best Participant of Business Law Society Internal Study and ALSA Legal Visit in Collaboration with Umbra Lawfirm and OJK, and the last and foremost achievement was as the 1st Champion of Atma Jaya Business Law Competition (Legal Opinion), in which she enlisted during this COVID-19 pandemic. The existence of COVID-19 has not stopped her from always trying her best for her future. She took all the valuable opportunities that were in front of her and multitasked her college assignments. “We have to be clever in managing our time and priorities. But that does not mean that I entirely neglect my least priorities,” said Tazkia.

Although participating in these competitions is as simple as wanting to get a job effortlessly, her dream to be a successful lawyer is based on a special motivation in her heart’s depth. “The biggest motivation of all is my mom. My mom is a single parent, and I am an only child. Soon she will retire, and I will be responsible for financing my mother’s life in the future. So, what I’m doing right now is an investment for my future,” she said. Tazkia realizes that the whole law major will be competing for the same job position, “Right before I started my college life, I agreed to myself that I must be one step ahead of the other students,” Tazkia said. Tazkia’s certificates of victory made her an unrivaled enemy to other classmates.

Even in these circumstances, a pandemic are unable to prevent us from endeavoring the most desirable future and make our parents proud. Though there may be struggles throughout the process, we will always find a way out, and it will have a massive impact on the upcoming future. We should take any opportunities ahead of us to make us even more experienced and stand out from the others.
